The highlights

  • One of the most beautiful regions of Madagascar, an exceptional concentration of ecosystems: high mountains, rich seabeds, seas in shades of emerald and turquoise, white sand beaches, magnificent bays, lush forests, tsingy, canyons, caves…
  • Extraordinary geological formations: the Red Tsingy canyons, the Tsingy de l'Ankarana
  • Extraordinary biodiversity: lemurs, tortoises, micro-chameleons, baobabs …
  • A natural, authentic experience at Iharana Bush Camp: original cabanas, exceptional walks, breathtaking natural scenery, unusual activities…

Points to note

  • The program depends on domestic flights and may be adjusted accordingly
  • Departure for the Emerald Sea excursion depends on the tide. The return trip can sometimes be a little windy (especially from June to September).
  • The route through the tsingy can sometimes be technical; not recommended for people prone to vertigo or claustrophobia.
  • Good walking shoes; bring a substantial supply of bottled water (especially from October onwards). Bring insect repellent.
  • To see humpback whales, come in August and September. For whale sharks: come from October to mid-December.
  • Season: late April – mid-December. Iharana Bush Camp is closed from December to April; the Red Tsingy are not recommended during the rainy season
