Frequently asked questions

We’ve got answers

Do you need a visa for Madagascar?

Yes — e-visa via evisamada.gov.mg or visa on arrival: free for up to 15 days, about 10 € for up to 30 days, 20 € for up to 60 days. Passport valid for six months after your return date.

How do you convert ariary to euros?

Roughly 5 000 Ar for 1 € — our prices show both currencies. Euros are easy to exchange at the airport and in banks; cards only work in major cities.

What customs and etiquette should you respect in Madagascar?

Tipping is customary though not compulsory: 10 000 to 20 000 Ar per day for a guide, half that for a driver. Each region has its own fady (local taboos) — your guides will point them out along the way.

What is the climate like, and when should you go?

The dry season, from April to November, is ideal everywhere; December to March brings rain and cyclones that close some tracks. The east coast gets rain year-round, while the deep south stays dry almost all year.

We guarantee a reply to every request within 48 hours. Our teams are multilingual, experienced and responsive.
