Salary Bay

Wild beaches of the southwest coast.

Best time to goYear-round Recommended duration2 to 4 days Trips2

Salary Bay is the end of the earth on the Vezo coast: an immense turquoise bay some sixty kilometers north of Ifaty, reached along a sand track — and that is precisely what keeps it unspoiled. Deserted beaches as far as the eye can see, fishing villages, an intact reef: the seaside South, off the beaten track.

Not to be missed

The lagoon itself — among the finest in the country —, fishing trips with the Vezo, snorkeling over coral heads, and the white dunes overlooking the bay.

Good to know

Here, everything arrives by track or by sea: no ATM, no reliable phone signal. People come to Salary to disconnect — bring cash and time.
